Therapy for Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults

Susan’s background in social work and family therapy has given her a strong foundation to provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. People have different capacities for change, and Susan works closely with young people to address their issues while being sensitive to their limitations. Frequently, when working with children, in an effort to provide the best support possible, Susan not only works with the child, but, when appropriate, in conjunction with their family and school.

Susan can help children, adolescents, and young adults with:

  • Depression

  • Social anxiety

  • Performance anxiety related to school

  • Relationship anxiety

  • Transitioning into adolescence

  • Transitioning from high school to university/college

 Business Consulting
A successful business requires healthy people. Susan’s training in therapy and mediation allows her to look beyond the business, and examine the root issues affecting the people within it. Susan will provide you with creative solutions that address your real issues.

Executive Coaching

Susan’s in-depth psychological approach provides insights and strategies beyond regular career coaching. She’ll counsel you through how to handle the various personalities you’ll meet in your journey to the next step in your career.

Team Building

Susan manages team-building workshops to improve and strengthen your team.

Team Dynamic Development

No matter who is on your team or what their personality, Susan can help your team members navigate the myriad of complex issues affecting them. This will allow them to optimize their performance as a team.

Succession Planning

Whenever it comes time to pass management on to new leaders, you want to make that transition as seamless as possible. Susan can guide all the people involved to ease this transition. If you’re a business, whether you’re family-owned and/or privately-owned, Susan can either prepare you for an eventual transition or guide you through a transition as it’s happening. If you’re an accountant or lawyer assisting your clients in the succession process and have identified a challenging psychological dynamic, Susan can intervene to refocus and realign the intended goals.

Transition Planning

Whether you’re a business facing layoffs and mergers, or an individual looking to change fields, Susan can provide you with the necessary support. For businesses, Susan will help you minimize the negative impact on the business and affected staff. If you’re looking to change fields, Susan can help you identify your skills and counsel you through your growth.

Crisis Management for Schools

Schools face unexpected crises from time to time, such as a tragedy in the community or the death of a student. Susan will work closely with you to create tailor-made plans for both crisis prevention and crisis intervention.

Crisis Prevention

Working with the school, Susan can identify key issues that might affect the students, such as eating disorders and suicidal thoughts. Once these key issues have been identified, Susan will put together policies and procedures, and institute staff training in order to prevent them from becoming serious crises.

Crisis Intervention

Because of Susan's unique approach to strategy and the ethics she upholds as a trained social worker, Susan has been sought by Canada’s leading institutions to deal with major crises.

In the event of a crisis, Susan will design a tailor-made plan based on the nature of the trauma and the needs of the community. She will be available on-site to assess the institutional needs and can provide both individual and group counselling. Depending on the nature of the crisis, Susan has access to a variety of health professionals and, if needed, will call them for support.

Once the crisis has been defused, Susan will debrief the school, including making recommendations for any future support, if required.
